The dumbest TV I have ever seen.

Very rarely do I see something that causes me to jump up a grab my computer and blog. However, today I was watching something so idiotic that I had to yell out.

Today on Tyra Banks ( I was just flipping through the channels and I caught it, I swear) Jennifer Love Hewitt was on. Now, she was talking about ghost whisperer. This is a show that I have not seen, but I think it kind of fits in that genre that is so popular now of:

1. There is a mystery
2. There is a detective/ person that can see ghosts/ spectres/ memories/ imagined things.
3. These things give the detective clues that no one else sees.
4. The detective solves the crime.

This, of course, started with the 6th sense and really culminated in that awful show that Jeff Goldblum must have made a boatload for....

This of course is different then the classic detective show of:

1. Someone dies
2. Detective is there
3. Detective actually gets own clues.
4. Detective solves crime. (Usually its for real estate on Matlock, for inheiritance on Murder She Wrote, and for revenge in Columbo)
5. Freeze frame ending after a joke.....

Now, this show was J-Love showing all of these photos and videos of "Ghosts" on the set of her show....

Which just happens to be about ghosts.

I thought it couldn't get any dumber unitl they showed the audience sitting there with gaped maws, not believing what they had just seen. It was like they had just seen the greatest thing ever..... It reminded me of the audience on those Ron Popeil adverts.

The other thing about the pictures is that most of them "only happened" when J Love was around. Thats strange that the show would want its most attractive person to be in most of the pictures.

Luckily I have been studying physics all day so that the dumbness was not able to overtake me.

On a normal day though, I could have become a zombie! And then I would go attack J Love.

SO WHAT!!

Holy cow! That is sooo real! Not Photoshopped at all. No, no. Not at all.

I was certainly horrified when I was back Stateside a couple of years ago and saw the typical TV-fare. Love the image of an "audience sitting there with gaped maws, not believing what they had just seen". That's because someone off camera held up a sign saying "gape maws in disbelief"

Thanks for your story at Indeterminacy. I finally posted my own story, and answered all the comments.

Thankfully, I bought a tv with the "Eliminate Tyra Banks" option ... unfortunately, I didn't pay the extra cash for the "Ignore American Idol" feature ... sigh.

Who has visited me today?
