happy EarthScience valentines day from Mr. Ward!!

Today we conducted an experiement that showed the effects of changing air pressure in a small space. We are continuing to learn the layers of the earth' s atmosphere through drawing and comparing where common objects reside in air of the earth

DUE

Fri- Quiz.....

Life Science.... Valentines Day Style

Today we started our adaptation unit by talking about genetic variation within a species.....

For example,

Even within humans, there is a definite difference between people. Some are faster, some have a different hair/ skin color, and some are better at holding their breath.

Apply this to a situation where some humans have an advantage surviving ( faster humans can run away from predators etc.) and you can see how some traits cause animals to pass on that DNA to future generations and some DNA (slow people get eaten) cause itself to NOT be passed on to the next generation.

Apply this over millions of years and you have our next unit.

Earth Science Thursday 2/8/07

We just got done with our volcano unit ( capped by a great volcano movie) and we are talking about thin air.

Literally!!

We just started the unit and we are leading into air pressure and eventually weather. We have a speaker coming in and hopefully get us talking about global warming.

Life Science 2.8.07

We just finished up our mating lab. There were a lot of children (drawn anyway) that I probably would not want living by me.

We also learned about the difference between complete, incomplete, and co dominance.

Today we worked on punnett squares and even talked a little art!
